Pastor Russ has been a pastor for four decades, leading small churches and churches of thousands in Missouri, Georgia, and South Carolina before recently returning to his home state of Oklahoma. All of his family roots are here, including his great-grandfather who was in the Oklahoma Land Rush and his grandmother who was of Cherokee tribal descent.
Known as a bible teacher and motivational leader, he has also piloted customer service training for a regional hospital system, served on a state family services board, hosted a radio program, launched a magazine, served as chaplain for a metro Atlanta police department, served on school improvement councils, and earned a doctorate in theology. Now a speaker and consultant, Russ mentors and coaches leaders in churches, education, business, politics, and sports. His passion is to help leaders and churches discover their God-called purpose.
Russ enjoys fishing, hunting, and going to ballgames every chance he gets. He and his wife Carol, live in Moore and are blessed with three children, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren. He is a publisher's best-selling author of the book, "SWALLOWED: Exposing Trendy Beliefs That Can Swallow Your Career" and has spoken on 5 continents.
